Women’s Awami League leader arrested late at night in Gazipur

Police have arrested Shahida Akhter Jasuda, the organizing secretary of Gazipur District Women’s Awami League and a reserved female member of Bhawalgarh Union. She was arrested in a drive in Gazipur Uttar Chhaya Bithi area around 2 am on Tuesday (May 13).

The arrested Shahida Akhter Jasuda is the daughter of Shanti Charan of Bhabanipur village in Gazipur Sadar Upazila.

Joydebpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Halim confirmed the matter.

He said that she was arrested in a case filed in this police station area in the case of a child being crippled during the anti-discrimination student movement. She is an accused in the case.

Shahida Akhter’s name has also been behind several labor movements in the industrial area of ​​Gazipur recently.

He said, “Shahida Akhtar tried to create an unstable environment in the country by using workers. She also provided funds to several movements. After learning about the matter through intelligence information, we went to the field to catch her and arrested her in a special operation last night.”
