    Women’s Awami League leader arrested late at night in Gazipur

    Police have arrested Shahida Akhter Jasuda, the organizing secretary of Gazipur District Women’s Awami League and a reserved female member of Bhawalgarh Union. She was arrested in a drive in Gazipur Uttar Chhaya Bithi area around 2 am on Tuesday (May 13).

    The arrested Shahida Akhter Jasuda is the daughter of Shanti Charan of Bhabanipur village in Gazipur Sadar Upazila.

    Joydebpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Halim confirmed the matter.

    He said that she was arrested in a case filed in this police station area in the case of a child being crippled during the anti-discrimination student movement. She is an accused in the case.

    Shahida Akhter’s name has also been behind several labor movements in the industrial area of ​​Gazipur recently.
