    Dr. Yunus awarded D-Lit degree by Chittagong University

    Chittagong University (CU) has awarded Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor to the interim government, an honorary D-Lit degree. He was awarded the degree at the CU’s fifth convocation ceremony on Wednesday (May 14). The chief advisor spoke as the convocation speaker at the ceremony.

    22,586 students will be awarded bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the convocation. In addition, 42 PhD and 33 MPhil degree holders are present.

    The estimated budget for the convocation is about 14 crore taka. Of this, the university has earned 6 crore taka from students. The highest expenditure was on pandals, decorations and accommodation management activities.

    Also present at the ceremony were Education Advisor Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Islam, Advisor on Liberation War Affairs Faruk-e-Azam, Bir Pratik, Advisor on Electricity and Minerals Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan, Advisor on Health and Family Welfare Nur Jahan Begum and UGC Chairman Dr. S. M. A. Fayez.

    The last convocation of CU was held in 2016. The university administration made extensive preparations for the convocation.
