Announce the election date quickly, or else we will go on strike

BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council member Zainul Abdin Faruk has warned of going on strike if the election date is not announced quickly.

He said this at a discussion meeting demanding the announcement of a roadmap for early elections at the National Press Club on Sunday (May 18) morning.

Zainul Abdin Faruk alleged that the government has not been able to pass the tests with which the people brought the interim government to power even in the long nine months. They are tarnishing the success of the July mass uprising.

‘This government has been brought to power to give a fair election. But I think the government is delaying the election to give someone an advantage,’ added this member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council.

He warned of going on strike if the election roadmap is not announced quickly and addressed the interim government, saying, “Announce the election date quickly.” If the election is not held on time, we will take to the field with a movement.

Zainul Abdin Faruk also alleged that looting of various ministries continues even though Sheikh Hasina has fled. This advisor to the BNP Chairperson demanded that the names of those who are helping former President Abdul Hamid escape be immediately revealed.
