14,000 babies could die in 48 hours if we don’t get to them, warns UN humanitarian chief

The UN’s humanitarian chief has warned that “14,000 newborns could die in the next 48 hours if we don’t get to them.” If the government does not provide food, the UN’s aid agency will not be able to provide food to them.

He said that the aid comes at a high risk, noting that “we are taking a lot of risks when it comes to providing food to children, because many of them are not able to feed their children because they are suffering from malnutrition.”
