Child dies after drowning in Jamalpur
A two-year-old child named Safwan died after drowning in a pond near his house in Melandha, Jamalpur.
He died after drowning in a pond near his house on Wednesday (May 21) morning.
The deceased child is the son of Sabuj Mia, a school teacher from Shihita Barabari area of Charbani Pakuria Union in the upazila.
Neighbors said that Safwan was playing in the yard with other children in the house in the morning. Suddenly, not seeing the child in the yard, the family members of the house started searching around. At one point, they saw him floating in a pond near the house. He died on the way to the hospital after being rescued.
Charbani Pakuria Union Acting Chairman Mosha. Safia Akhter said that the child died after drowning in the water while playing in the morning.
