A train carrying oil derailed in the Puranapoil area of Joypurhat Sadar Upazila, and traffic has returned to normal after 4.5 hours.

The derailment occurred at 9:45 pm on Wednesday (May 21) and was normalized around 2:30 am, said Joypurhat Railway Station Master Nahida Akhtar.

Earlier, due to the derailment of the train, train services across the country, including the Parbatipur-Santahar route, were suspended in Joypurhat, she said.
