Kuwait lifts visa ban for Pakistanis after 19 years

Kuwait has lifted a visa ban for Pakistani citizens that had been in place for 19 years. Mustafa Malik, spokesman for the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, announced this on Monday (May 26) local time. The country’s media outlet Geo News reported this information in a report.

Under the new guidelines, Kuwait will now issue various types of visas to Pakistani citizens, including employment (work), family, visit, tourism and commercial visas.

Mustafa Malik said this will create job, business and tourism opportunities for thousands of Pakistanis in Kuwait. The world is now opening its doors to skilled Pakistani workers. Arab countries, in particular, are interested in hiring skilled workers from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait Dr. Zafar Iqbal has announced plans to bring 1,200 Pakistani nurses soon to assist in Kuwait’s health sector.

He revealed that an initial group of 125 nurses was scheduled to arrive in Kuwait last week. However, their arrival was delayed due to accommodation issues.

He confirmed that special teams are actively working to resolve the issue and the nurses are expected to arrive in Kuwait in the next few days.

Iqbal informed about a major development in the visa process, saying, “I can happily confirm that the Kuwaiti authorities have resumed issuing work, family travel, dependent, tourist and commercial visas to Pakistani nationals from this month. The proposed visa application forms are now available through the online platform.
