Budget 2025-26 revenue collection target is 564,000 crore taka
The revenue collection target for the upcoming 2025-26 fiscal year budget has been set at 564,000 crore taka, which is 9 percent of GDP.
This information was revealed in the national budget proposal for the fiscal year 2025-26 presented by Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed on Monday (June 2).
He said that the activities of the National Board of Revenue are continuing to achieve the revenue collection target in the medium term, including rationalizing tax exemptions to increase revenue collection. The manpower has been increased to further strengthen the activities of the National Board of Revenue.
In addition, the issue of gradually reducing tax exemption benefits, expanding the tax net, and setting VAT at the same rate on various goods and services is under active consideration.
He said that a total revenue revenue of Tk 564,000 crore has been estimated for the coming fiscal year 2025-26, which is 9 percent of the GDP. Of this, it is proposed to collect Tk 499,000 crore through the National Board of Revenue and Tk 65,000 crore from other sources.
