    Schoolboy dies in microbus-motorcycle collision

    A schoolboy named Abdullah Fakir (14) died in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a microbus in Alfadanga, Faridpur.

    He died on his way to Dhaka from Faridpur Medical College Hospital around 10:30 am on Saturday (June 14).

    Earlier, Abdullah was seriously injured in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a microbus in the Joydebpur Eidgah area on the Joydebpur-Shirgram road in Alfadanga upazila around 7:30 am.

    Abdullah Fakir is the son of the late Aminul Islam Fakir of Dhopapara village in Gunbaha union in Boalmari upazila. He was studying in the eighth grade of Shirgram Bahumukhi High School in Bana union in Alfadanga.

    According to local sources, the deceased Aminul Islam Fakir, a resident of Dhopapara village in Gunbaha union of Boalmari upazila, died about 8 years ago, leaving behind his wife, a son Abdullah and two daughters. Since then, the younger Abdullah’s family, including his mother and two sisters, was doing fairly well.

    On Saturday morning, student Abdullah Fakir went to Bhatpara area of ​​Boalmari upazila on a motorcycle. On his way back from there, on the motorcycle, Abdullah suffered a serious chest injury in a head-on collision with a microbus coming from the opposite direction in front of Joydebpur Eidgah on Joydebpur-Shirgram road in Alfadanga.

    Locals quickly rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex. After receiving primary treatment there, he was transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. Abdullah later died on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the afternoon.

    Aslam Molya, a neighbor cousin of the deceased Abdullah, said that their family has no complaints. The funeral will be held at Dhopapara Ashraful Ulum Gorsthan Madrasa after Asr prayers on Saturday.

    Alfadanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Shah Jalal Alam said, “No one has informed us about this accident or brought any complaint.”
