Overnight Iranian attack kills 4 in Israel, many injured
Israel launched a massive attack on various locations in Iran for the third consecutive day on Sunday. In response, Iran launched ballistic missile attacks on various Israeli targets overnight. The reciprocal attacks have caused extensive damage and loss of life in both countries.
The Israeli military said in a post on its X-A that it had struck the headquarters of the Quds Force in the Iranian capital Tehran.
The Quds Force is the overseas branch of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC); which has extensive influence over allied militias from Lebanon to Iraq, Yemen and Syria in the Middle East.
There was no immediate comment from Iran on the matter.
Death toll in overnight Iranian attack rises to four in Israel
Israel’s national emergency services agency, Magen David Adom (MDA), said another person was killed in the latest Iranian attack, bringing the death toll in the latest attack to four.
The MDA said two women and two men were among the dead.
The agency also said it had transferred a total of 87 injured people to hospitals, at least one of whom was in critical condition.
US appears to be deploying large numbers of aerial refueling tankers over the Atlantic Ocean
The Times of Israel reported that a large number of aerial refueling tankers are believed to be being deployed from US bases over the Atlantic Ocean amid the Israeli-Iranian conflict in the Middle East.
At least 30 KC-135 and KC-46 tanker aircraft were sent east late Sunday night, according to flight tracking data.
Such tanker aircraft are needed to refuel long-range missions, such as the Israeli warplanes that attacked Iran.
