    Body of college student who went missing while filming a bathing video recovered

    The body of a college student named Srijan Saha, who went missing while filming a bathing video in the Balu River in Rupganj, Narayanganj, has been recovered by a fire service diving team. The body was recovered from the PDL Ghat in Patira area under Khilkhet police station on Tuesday (June 17) morning.

    The deceased Srijan Saha is a resident of Kashipur area under Madhabdi police station in Narsingdi district. He had just given his Masters final examination in Chemistry from Narsingdi Government College.

    Earlier, on Sunday (June 15) afternoon, Srijan Saha came from Narsingdi with his family to attend the Shraddha ceremony of Nana Bancharam Saha in Ichhapura area of ​​Rupganj. That day, around 5:30 pm, he went down to bathe in the Ichhapura Balu River with great joy. At that time, his younger brother Surya Saha recorded the scene of his bathing on his mobile phone. At one point, Srijan swam to the middle of the river and was swept away by the strong current. He has been missing since then.

    Upon receiving the news, the Purbachal Fire Service’s diving team started a rescue operation in the river from Monday morning (June 16). They were able to recover Srijan’s body at 7:30 am on Tuesday.

    Purbachal Fire Service and Civil Defense Station Officer Uddipan Bhakta said, “We had to hurry up to carry out the rescue operation due to the strong current in the river. Even then, we continued our efforts. We recovered the body from one and a half kilometers away from the scene at 7:30 am.”
