Ishraq will not take charge without formal oath
BNP leader Engineer Ishraq Hossain has said that he will not take charge of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) before taking formal oath. He also accused local government chief Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan of corruption.
Ishraq’s supporters held a symbolic sit-in program on Tuesday (June 17) morning as part of the ongoing sit-in program.
Engineer Ishraq Hossain, who came to the program of the supporters, said that he will not take charge of the post of mayor until he takes the oath in a formal process.
Alleging corruption against the local government, Ishraq said that Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan is benefiting politically and financially. For this, he gave the responsibility of the administrator of Dhaka South City to his close people.
He called on the Anti-Corruption Commission to look into the matter of what kind of corruption the local government is involved in after coming to the city corporation.
Engineer Ishraq Hossain warned that if the demands are not met, the sit-in program will spread to the streets of Dhaka South City.
Meanwhile, the people are seeking redress for the extreme suffering caused by the closure of the city hall.
