The largest nuclear-powered US warship is heading towards Iran!

The US Navy’s new and largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, is reportedly ready to deploy to the Mediterranean Sea. This is the latest major military move in the region amid the Iran-Israel conflict.

Another US media outlet, the New York Post, reported this on Wednesday (June 18), citing CNN senior correspondent Zachary Cohen.

It said that the 1,100-foot-tall US nuclear-powered warship, the USS Gerald R. Ford, is expected to be sent to the Middle East from Europe within the next week, which will be considered the third US aircraft carrier in the region.

The report, citing sources, said that the $13 billion carrier was likely planned to be deployed to the Mediterranean Sea last year.

However, many are not taking the US decision to send the warship to the Middle East lightly in the context of the Iran-Israel conflict. Because there is a fear that the US could attack Iran at any time.

It is said that Gerald Ford will join the USS Carl Vinson, which is already in the Persian Gulf. And the USS Nimitz, which the US announced earlier this week to send from Southeast Asia.

In addition, a report published on Wednesday said that several more US warships have left a US naval base in Bahrain as part of the increase in military tensions around Iran.
