Did Iran ask for military cooperation from Russia, Putin said
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Iran has not asked for any military cooperation from Russia in the ongoing war with Israel.
In response to a question at a roundtable meeting with media personnel in St. Petersburg on Wednesday (June 18) local time, he said, Russia is not imposing anything on anyone. No cooperation has been requested from Iran so far.
He said, we once offered our Iranian friends to work together on air defense systems. At that time, they did not show much interest. The strategic partnership agreement you are talking about does not have any clause related to the defense sector. Our Iranian friends have not asked for anything about it yet.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed concern about the Israel-Iran conflict. This information was given by the organization’s spokesman Stephane Dujarric at a briefing on Wednesday. He said, everything possible must be done to ensure that this conflict does not take an international form. He also commented that diplomacy is the only way to address concerns about Iran’s nuclear program and regional stability.
