Everest conqueror Shakil’s flag-return ceremony held
After Ikramul Hasan Shakil conquered Everest by walking 1,372 kilometers from Bangladesh, the flag-return ceremony was held. The flag was handed over to the country’s dignitaries at the Biswa Sahitya Kendra on Friday (June 20) morning.
Shakil started his journey by walking from Cox’s Bazar beach on February 25. He climbed the Everest peak on May 19. At the press conference, Everest conqueror Ikramul Shakil talked about his breathless expedition to conquer Everest by walking from Cox’s Bazar.
At the event, Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed said that the enthusiasm for mountain travel and mountain expeditions should be increased among the country’s youth. These adventurous activities will make Bangladesh’s name shine in the world.
At the same time, the Nepalese ambassador to Dhaka said that the number of Bangladeshis in Himalayan expeditions is increasing.
