US will suffer ‘eternal consequences’: Iranian Foreign Minister

In his first reaction after the US attack, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the attack is a serious violation of international law, the UN Charter and the Non-Proliferation Treaty. He also warned that the attack will have ‘eternal consequences’.

He made this comment in a post on the social media handle X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday (June 22).

In the post, Abbas Araghchi wrote that the US, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, has seriously violated the UN Charter, international law and the NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty) by attacking Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.

He also said that the events of this morning are very shameful and their consequences will be eternal. Every member state of the UN should be wary of such dangerous, illegal and criminal behavior.

Iran’s foreign minister warned that Iran reserves the right to take all measures to protect its sovereignty, interests and people.

However, US President Donald Trump called the attack “very successful”. He wrote on his social media account Truth Social, “We have very successfully attacked Iran’s Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities. All our aircraft are now safely outside Iranian airspace.”

Meanwhile, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters (KCHQ), the headquarters of the active fighters of the Iranian armed forces, has warned that any country that supplies military equipment to the Israeli government in the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict will be considered involved in aggression against Iran, as well as becoming a target of Iran.

Incidentally, the Iranian Foreign Minister and KCHQ’s warnings against direct US participation in the Iran-Israel conflict – now it remains to be seen how much Iran takes their statements into account, and even what they do in response. For now, the world’s anxious gaze is on that.
