Trump-Netanyahu Deal: How the US Agreed to Attack Iran

Initially, there was a back-and-forth between Iran and Israel. In the meantime, the US came and attacked three of Iran’s nuclear facilities. And with this, the entire war table turned upside down. Then naturally the question arises, how did Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu manage US President Donald Trump to launch the attack?

According to a report in Time, one of the greatest achievements of Netanyahu’s career was to drag the US into a war against Iran.

Israeli officials said that the formation of this alliance began on February 4. When Netanyahu met with Trump at the White House. At one point, Netanyahu reminded him that Iran had once plotted to assassinate Trump. Then Netanyahu presented a slide showing how Iran was rapidly moving towards building a nuclear bomb.

He told Trump that they must be stopped. Iran cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon during your term.

Trump was impressed by these words. But he did not immediately authorize war. Trump wanted to find a diplomatic solution. He appointed his old friend and businessman Steve Witkoff to negotiate.

Netanyahu agreed to give 60 days. Israeli officials claim that when Iran did not reach an agreement after this period, Trump also realized that there was no opportunity for negotiations.

On May 31, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Iran was secretly producing nuclear materials. Then Israel shared secret intelligence with the United States.

They claimed that Iran was continuing the negotiations just to pass the time. The aim was to reach the stage of secretly producing nuclear weapons.

However, US intelligence agencies did not believe it. In March, US intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard told Congress that Iran had not yet decided to make a bomb.

After the 60-day deadline expired, Israel announced that it would attack Iran. Iran retaliated within hours.

Many fear that the conflict is heading towards a long-term one as the United States joins forces with Israel.
