ECNEC approves 17 projects worth Tk 9,000 crore
The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved 17 projects worth Tk 8,974.28 lakh.
Of this, government funding includes Tk 3,180.34 crore, project loans Tk 5,563.43 crore and the organization’s own funding is Tk 2,305.1 lakh.
The approval was given at an ECNEC meeting held at the NEC conference room of the Planning Commission on Tuesday (June 24) under the chairmanship of ECNEC Chairperson and Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
The approved projects include expansion of upazila health complexes, establishment of drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation centers in divisional cities, establishment of simulators and naval training facilities in four new marine academies, expansion of integrated services to prevent violence against women and children, quality of life improvement activities for Rohingya and local communities, establishment of the third submarine cable to expand international telecommunications in Bangladesh, construction of 13 new fertilizer storage warehouses (buffer godowns) in different districts of the country, establishment of youth clubs, TTET recharge program to develop technical education, mobile library project of the Ministry of Culture, establishment of new digital database for development budget management, strengthening of IPIMS and capacity building of government audit system through digital training. It is worth noting that the ECNEC held its last meeting of the current fiscal year two days after the budget for the new fiscal year was passed.
