Night coach-three-wheeler head-on collision in Thakurgaon, father and daughter die

A father and daughter named Asraful Islam (50) and Bobiyatul Akhtar (15) died in a head-on collision between a night coach and a three-wheeler in Thakurgaon. The accident occurred on Tuesday (June 24) morning at a place called Khalisakuri on the Dhaka-Panchagarh highway in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila.

The deceased Asraful Islam is the son of Abu Mohammad of Bhulli area and the other is the daughter of Bobiyatul Asraful Islam.

Quoting eyewitnesses, Bhulli Police Station OC Saiful Islam Sarkar said that in the morning, Asraful Islam himself was driving a three-wheeler from his house in Bhulli to take Bobiyatul Akhtar, a ninth-grade student, to Khalisakuri Madrasa. At that time, a three-wheeler collided head-on with a VIP night coach leaving from Dhaka on the opposite side, killing Asraful and Bobiatul Akhter on the spot. Later, when locals informed the police, the police recovered the bodies from the spot. The police arrested the night coach, but the driver and helper are absconding after the incident. The police also said that preparations are underway to file a case in this regard at Bhulli Police Station.
