    Fajr, the main accused in the controversial rape case in Comilla, has been arrested.

    The police arrested him from the Jatrabari area of ​​the capital on Sunday (June 29) morning. The victim filed a rape case with Muradnagar Police Station last Friday (June 27) as a complainant in the incident and named the accused Fajr Ali as the accused. She alleged that the rape incident took place on the night of last Thursday (June 26). Earlier, four people were arrested for spreading the video of the incident on social media. They are – Abdul Hannan’s son Suman, Jafar Ali’s son Ramzan, Md. Alam’s son Arif and Md. Talem Hossain’s son Anik. All of them are residents of Baherchar under Panchkitta police station of Muradnagar police station.

    Comilla District Police Superintendent Nazir Ahmed Khan said that on June 26, around 8 pm, Fajr Ali of Ramchandrapur Panchkitta village in Muradnagar was arrested and beaten by the people of the area on the charge of raping the wife of an expatriate. Later, the injured Fajr Ali fled from there. Some people present at the spot immediately recorded a video of the victim and spread it on social media.

    Upon receiving the news, the Muradnagar police station quickly reached the spot and took legal action. Based on the victim’s written statement, a case was registered at the Muradnagar police station under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act. It is learned that the victim is a mother of two children. Her husband is an expatriate in Dubai. And the accused Fajr Ali is the son of Shahid Mia of Purbapara, Panchkitta village in Baherchar.
