Abu Sayeed murder case formal complaint filed
A formal complaint has been filed in the murder case of Abu Sayeed of Rangpur, the first martyr of the July Uprising. A formal complaint was filed at the International Crimes Tribunal-2 on Monday (June 30). Earlier, the investigation agency submitted the investigation report to the tribunal’s prosecution on June 24. At the same time, the weapon used in the murder of Abu Sayeed has been submitted to the prosecution.
The investigation report has revealed that 30 people, including the then Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner, were involved in the murder of Abu Sayeed. Four accused are in jail in this case. They are Shariful Islam, former proctor of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur, former assistant sub-inspector of police Amir Hossain, constable Sujan Chandra Roy and Chhatra League leader Imran Chowdhury. Abu Sayeed was shot dead at the park intersection in front of Begum Rokeya University on July 16 last year.
