Expired vehicles to be phased out: Advisor Rizwana
The government has adopted short, medium and long-term plans to prevent air pollution. For this, work will have to be coordinated with various agencies, said Advisor on Water Resources and Environment, Forest and Climate Change Syeda Rizwana Hasan. The advisor said these things after exchanging views with a Chinese expert representative on air pollution control at the Secretariat on Monday (June 30). Stating that the repair work of dilapidated roads will be completed before the winter season or next October to prevent air pollution, she further said that old expired vehicles will be removed from the roads in a phased manner. A decision has been taken to purchase 250 new vehicles. She further said that brick-free areas will be declared around Dhaka. We will try to reduce dust pollution this year and provide relief to the city dwellers. Short, medium and long-term plans must be made to reduce air pollution. Dilapidated roads will be repaired before the winter season (by October). The government will work to improve air quality by exchanging experiences with China.
