    15 people including Shakib banned from leaving the country

    Shakib Al Hasan has been out of the national team for a long time. The country’s best cricketer is unable to return to the country as he is an Awami League MP and an accused in a murder case. In the meantime, the court has ordered a ban on his departure.

    On Monday (June 16), Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md. Zakir Hossain Galib’s court issued this order in response to the ACC’s application.

    Apart from Shakib, there are 15 more names on this list. ACC Public Relations Officer Akhtarul Islam gave this information.

    The others banned are – Deputy Registrar of the Cooperatives Department Md. Abul Khair, Kazi Sadia Hasan, Abul Kalam Madbar, Kanika Afroz, Mohammad Bashar, Sazed Madbar, Aleya Begum, Kazi Fuad Hasan, Kazi Farid Hasan, Shirin Akhter, Javed A Matin, Md. Zahed Kamal, Md. Humayun Kabir and Tanvir Nizam.

    The ACC application states that an investigation is underway against Deputy Registrar of the Cooperatives Department Md. Abul Khair and others for embezzling money through irregularities and corruption, violating government rules and regulations and the Stock Market Act, and acquiring illegal assets including investing hundreds of crores of taka in the stock market.

    Citing information obtained from confidential sources during the investigation, the application states that the accused are trying to flee the country and flee to another country. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to cancel their travel abroad for the sake of a fair investigation.
