17 students were not given HSC exams due to lack of admit cards
17 students of Prashanti Ideal School and College in Daripara, Jamalpur Municipality could not take part in the HSC exams due to lack of admit cards. On Thursday (June 26) morning, the students were unable to take the exams and took a stand in front of the college.
After waiting until 2 am on Wednesday, the students and their guardians started a ruckus in the college principal’s room without getting their admit cards. At one stage of the situation, everyone, including the college principal, opened the college’s signboard and locked the gate and fled.
The students alleged that the college authorities could not give them anything despite taking money for their admit cards and registration cards. Among them are 10 students from the science department, 4 from the humanities department and 3 from the business department.
The mobile phone of principal Rezaul Islam Selim, who had been hiding in the college building after removing the school’s signboard and locking it, was also found switched off. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Afsana Taslim said that action will be taken against the institution if a written complaint is filed with evidence. This year, 26,575 students have participated in the HSC examination at 52 centers in the district.
