2 killed in auto-rickshaw-microbus collision in Chittagong
Two passengers were killed in a head-on collision between a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw and a microbus in Anwara Upazila of Chittagong. Two others were injured.
The accident occurred at around 8:30 am on Saturday (May 31) in the Mazar Gate area of the Anwara-Baanshkhali PAB road.
The identities of the deceased are not yet known. However, the injured include Alamgir (28) and Brishn Das (29) of Banshkhali Upazila.
Eyewitnesses said that when a CNG auto-rickshaw coming from Chambal in Banshkhali towards Chittagong city reached the Mazar Gate area, it collided head-on with a microbus coming from the opposite direction. As a result, the auto-rickshaw was twisted and two passengers died on the spot.
Dr. Mahatab Uddin Chowdhury, Health and Family Planning Officer of Anwara Upazila Health Complex, said, “The two seriously injured have been sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital after receiving primary treatment.”
