73 more people infected with dengue in Barguna
73 more people have been infected with dengue in Barguna. With this, the total number of infected people in the district has reached 2,402. In addition, 22 people have died of dengue so far.
This information was confirmed by the Health Department on Monday (June 23).
Among the new infected people, 69 are in Barguna Sadar Upazila, 2 in Betagi Upazila, and one each in Amtali and Patharghata Upazilas.
In addition, 224 people are undergoing treatment for dengue in the district. Of these, 190 are under treatment at Barguna General Hospital, 3 in Amtali Upazila, 4 in Betagi Upazila, 11 in Bamna Upazila, 7 in Patharghata Upazila and 9 in Taltali Upazila.
In addition, out of the total dengue cases in the district, 2,203 people have been infected in Sadar Upazila, 22 in Taltoli Upazila, 55 in Bamna Upazila, 16 in Betagi Upazila, 13 in Amtoli Upazila and 93 in Patharghata Upazila.
On the other hand, all 22 people who died of dengue in the district are from Barguna Sadar Upazila.
In this regard, Barguna Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Abul Fattah said, “The number of dengue patients is increasing day by day. The number of dengue patients is not coming under control at all. We are already having to rush to provide medical services. If such a situation continues, everything will go out of control.”
At this time, he urged the locals to be aware and to conduct cleanliness drives and mosquito control activities on a large scale.
