A young man died in the Ruposhi Jharna in Mirsarai.
A young man named Asif Uddin (24) died after slipping and falling in the Ruposhi Jharna in Mirsarai. He is the son of Golap Uddin of Madarbari Kamal Gate area of Chittagong city.
The incident took place at Ruposhi Jharna in Baradaroga Hat of the upazila on Sunday (June 15) at 12 noon.
The deceased Asif Uddin is the son of Md. Golap of Purba Madarbari Kamal Gate area of Sadarghat Police Station in Chittagong. He was a 4th year student of the Finance and Banking Department of Chittagong Islamia Degree College.
It is learned that in the morning, they came to Ruposhi Jharna from Chittagong city with 5 friends. After entering the fountain at 11:30 am, he went into a well to take a bath with his friends. At one point, he went missing. When his other friends could not find him, they informed the fire service. Later, rescue workers of Mirsarai Fire Service recovered his body around 1 pm.
The deceased’s friend Mehedi Hasan said that he came to take a bath with 5 friends at 11:30 am. After entering the fountain, we were all taking a bath in the fountain. But suddenly, Asif could not be found, so we started searching. After not finding him for a long time, they informed the fire service and with the help of locals, they came and recovered the body. I lost my friend in an instant.
Mirsarai Fire Service officer and rescue team leader Shahlang Marma said, the national emergency service called 999 and informed that the tourist was missing in the waterfall. At around 1 pm, the diving team recovered his body with the help of locals. The body has been handed over to the police.
Nizampur Police Investigation Center In-charge Zahid Arman said, the body has been taken to the police station. It will be handed over to the family after the legal process is completed.
