AL’s flash procession in Dhaka, 3 arrested
Three leaders and activists of Awami League and Jubo League have been arrested for participating in a flash procession in front of Delta Hospital in the capital’s Dholaipar area.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said this in a press release on Sunday (June 1).
The arrested persons are Shyampur Thana Awami League Joint General Secretary Khorshed-ur-Rahman Masum (48), Kadamtali Thana Jubo League member Ahsan Kabir Adar (31) and Kadamtali Thana Jubo League member Idris Ali Ishan (22).
Police said that on Saturday (May 31) at around 3 pm, some people from Awami League and its affiliated organizations gathered in front of Delta Hospital in Dholaipar to hold an anti-government procession. Three people were arrested from the spot immediately and the others fled.
Police further said that regular cases have been registered against the arrested persons at Shyampur Police Station and the drive to arrest others is ongoing.
According to Shyampur Police Station sources, there are cases against all the arrested persons at various police stations on specific charges. They were involved in organizing and destabilizing the country by destroying law and order and in creating panic in the public mind by holding sudden processions in different parts of the capital.
