Another Dengue Death After a Day

A dengue fever death occurred again after a day. Two people have died of dengue in the last 24 hours. And 326 people have been newly infected. Of these, 118 are in Barisal division. This information was given in a special dengue notification of the Health Department on Wednesday (June 25) afternoon.

It said that from 8 am on Tuesday to 8 am on Wednesday, 118 patients were admitted to the hospital due to dengue in Barisal division (outside the City Corporation), 43 in Chittagong division (outside the City Corporation), 43 in Dhaka division (outside the City Corporation), 26 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 45 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 16 in Khulna division (outside the City Corporation), 29 in Rajshahi division (outside the City Corporation), and one in Sylhet division (outside the City Corporation).

In the last 24 hours, 319 dengue patients have been discharged from the hospital. A total of 7,749 patients have been discharged from hospitals so far this year. A total of 8,870 people have been infected with dengue as of June 25 this year. Of these, 58.7 percent are men and 41.3 percent are women. 36 people have died of dengue so far this year.

From January to December 31, 2024, a total of 1,101,214 people have been infected with dengue and a total of 575 people have died of dengue. Earlier, from January 1 to December 31, 2023, a total of 1,705 people died of dengue, while a total of 321,179 people were admitted to hospitals due to dengue.
