Army operation in remote hills, 2 killed including KNA commander
Two people, including a commander of the Kuki Chin National Army (KNA), were killed in an army operation in the remote hills of Ruma upazila of Bandarban. This information was given in a message sent by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday (July 3) morning. The ISPR said that two armed terrorists of the Kuki Chin National Army were shot dead in an army operation in the remote hilly area of Ruma upazila. The operation was reported to be ongoing.
It was reported that three SMGs, a rifle, weapons and ammunition and other equipment were recovered in the operation. However, the identities of the deceased could not be immediately ascertained. The ISPR said that details of this will be announced at a press conference. Locals said that heavy gunfire was heard in the area since night. They reported that two bodies were lying in the forest.
