Army will also work to stop extortion in animal-carrying vehicles: Abdul Hafiz

The army will also work alongside the police to stop extortion in animal-carrying vehicles on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, said retired Lt. J. Abdul Hafiz, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor on Defense Affairs.

He informed reporters after a meeting on determining the price of sacrificial animal skins and proper management of the skins at the Secretariat on Wednesday (May 21).

Lt. J. (Retd.) Abdul Hafiz said that a new hotline will be launched in the Secretariat and all divisional cities for the complaints of the victims.

He also said that strict action will be taken quickly based on the complaints in this case.

At this time, Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin said that the price of sacrificial animal skins will be determined higher this year than last year for the proper management of the skins.

He said that the government is working to ensure that syndicates cannot operate in any way in the storage or management of skins. This year, free salt will be provided to orphanages and madrasas with the aim of proper leather management.
