Awarding of “Ratnagarbha Tahmina Rahman Scholarship” to Meritorious Students of UITS
On the initiative of the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 2:30 PM, “Ratnagarbha Tahmina Rahman Scholarship” was awarded to meritorious students selected from each department of the spring semester 2025 at the university’s Ratnagarbha Tahmina Rahman Multipurpose Hall.
Under the ‘Ratnagarbha Tahmina Rahman Scholarship Fund’ established in the name of Mrs. Tahmina Rahman, wife of Ekushey Padak recipient Alhaj Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Honorable Chairman of UITS and PHP Family, and Honorable Member of the Board of Trustees, this semester too, like every semester, this scholarship was awarded to a total of thirty meritorious students, including nine from the Computer Science and Engineering Department, seven from the Business Studies Department, four from the Law Department, four from the English Department, three from the Pharmacy Department, two from the Civil Engineering Department and one from the IT Department.
The program was presided over by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hasan Bhuiyan. In his speech, he addressed the students and said that out of thousands of students of the university, this scholarship is being given to only thirty students every semester on the basis of their merit and morality. He said that this scholarship is your achievement. Your talent will be used for the welfare of the country and the nation, so that the glory of this university and the face of the country will shine. The Honorable Vice-Chancellor expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Honorable Chairman and Honorable Members of the Board of Trustees for providing the scholarship and wished the scholarship recipients well.
The Honorable Treasurer of the University, Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, delivered the welcome speech at the scholarship distribution ceremony held under the chairmanship of the Honorable Registrar of the University, Mr. Mohammad Kamrul Hasan. He highlighted the purpose of this scholarship in his speech. At this time, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Mr. Syeda Afsana Ferdousi, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Dr. Faruk Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Dr. M. Rabiul Hossain, also delivered speeches at the ceremony. The event was also attended by the heads of all departments of the university, advisors (student welfare), university officials and employees, and scholarship students.
