Bangladesh Biman’s Dhaka-Narita route to be closed

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has temporarily suspended flight operations from Dhaka to Narita, Japan. Flight operations on this route will be suspended from July 1.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines announced this information in a press release on Sunday (May 18).

The release said, “Due to the ongoing Hajj flights, shortage of aircraft and business realities, flight operations on the Dhaka-Narita-Dhaka route will be suspended from July 1.”

The release also said, “Those who have purchased tickets for dates after July 1 will get a full refund without any additional costs. For this, passengers will have to contact Biman’s own sales office, counter or the concerned travel agent.”

It is worth noting that Bangladesh Biman resumed flights on the Dhaka-Narita route on September 1, 2023. However, the route is being closed again after a year and a half. As a result, there is no longer any opportunity to fly directly from Dhaka to Japan on Bangladesh Biman.

Earlier, this state-owned company had launched flights on the Dhaka-Narita route for the first time in 1981. Later, the route was closed in 2006. Even before that, Biman had started flights on the Dhaka-Tokyo route in 1979, but it could not be operated for long.
