BNP walks out of National Consensus Commission meeting

The party leaders took this decision at the beginning of the 20th day of the second phase of the meeting of political parties with the National Consensus Commission at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Monday (July 28). It is learned that BNP has walked out of the discussion on the provisions for the appointment of the Public Service Commission, ACC, Auditor General and Controller and Ombudsman. Earlier, National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Dr. Ali Riaz said that the unresolved issues that have come to the table will be discussed. Progress has been made on several major issues. Professor Ali Riaz said this at the beginning of the discussion today. Stating that the initial proposals were changed many times by the commission so that the political parties could agree, Dr. Ali Riaz said, 12 issues have been agreed upon, efforts are being made to agree on the rest. So that the previous situation does not return in the future. He also said that he wants to create a historical document so that the path of Bangladesh goes in that direction. Earlier, on July 23, three parties including CPB staged a symbolic walkout from the National Consensus Commission dialogue in protest against the attack by law enforcement agencies on the students and guardians protesting the plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara Diabari in the capital. As the session began that day, CPB General Secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince stood up and protested. He announced a 10-minute symbolic walkout. He was supported by Mushtaq Hossain of the JSD standing committee and BAZLUR Rashid Firoz, General Secretary of BAS.
