Two bomb-like objects have been recovered in front of the BNP office in Gangni, Meherpur. A note containing a threat in the name of Awami League was lying there. On Thursday (June 26) morning, police recovered a local bomb-like object and the note in Nawda Motmura village of the upazila. According to local and police sources, there is a local BNP office in Nawda Motmura village. The leaders and activists closed the office at night and returned home. In the morning, locals reported the two bomb-like objects wrapped in scotch tape in front of the office and informed the police.

A handwritten note was found next to the bomb-like object. It quotes an unidentified Awami League worker as saying, “Even if Sheikh Hasina fled, they are still in place. If they come to power in the future, they will be like Palestine.” Gangni Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bani Israel said that the bomb-like objects were initially defused by placing them in containers filled with water and sand.
