Case filed in triple murder case in Muradnagar, 2 arrested
A murder case has been filed at the police station in the case of the public beating to death of three people, including a mother, son and daughter, in Karaibari in Muradnagar, Comilla. Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Saiful Malik said that on Friday (July 4) night, the victim’s daughter Rikta Akhter filed the complaint as the plaintiff and named 63 people as the accused. The complaint was registered on her application. In this incident, the joint forces conducted a drive on Friday (July 4) night and arrested two people. They are Md. Sabir Ahmed (48) and Md. Nazim Uddin Babul (56), residents of Karaibari village.
Police said that the bodies were handed over to the three families from the Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue after 5 pm on Friday. Then, the bodies were buried at Karaibari graveyard under police guard after 8:30 pm. However, except for a few people, no locals or relatives were seen attending their funeral. Later that night, Rikta Akhter, the daughter of the deceased Ruby Akhter, filed a murder case with the police station. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bangra Police Station Mahfuzur Rahman said that after the burial of the bodies of the three deceased, Ruby’s daughter Rikta Akhter filed a murder case at the night after naming 38 people and accusing 25 other unidentified people. Two people were arrested in the incident at night. The joint forces’ operation to arrest the remaining accused is ongoing.
It is worth noting that on Thursday (July 3), around 9:30 am, locals in Muradnagar’s Koribari village beat three people from the same family to death, accusing them of stealing a mobile phone and drug dealing. The deceased include Roksana Akhter Ruby (58), the wife of Khalilur Rahman of Koribari village, her son Russell Mia (35) and daughter Jonaki Akhter (32). Ruby’s other daughter, Ruma Akhter (25), was injured in the attack and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital.
