Chhatra League leader arrested for stealing!

Banned organization Chhatra League leader Md. Nahid was arrested by locals while stealing from a house in Gomostapur, Chapainawabganj. He was handed over to the police on Sunday (May 25) morning.

The arrested Chhatra League leader is Md. Nahid (19), the president of Chhatra League ward number 3 of Gomostapur Sadar Union and son of Md. Zia Doctor of Chaipara village.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gomostapur Police Station Rais Uddin confirmed the matter.

Earlier, on Saturday (May 24), a theft incident took place at the house of Md. Mizan of Chaipara village, ward number 3 of Gomostapur Union, Gomostapur Upazila, Chapainawabganj, at around 3 am. At that time, family members caught wind of the matter and chased the locals and arrested Nahid. During this, the stolen mobile phone was recovered from him.

Gomostapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rais Uddin said that the local people detained the Chhatra League ward president while he was trying to steal. Police went to the spot in the morning and brought him to the police station. A case against him is under process. Necessary legal action will be taken later.
