Chicken prices further reduced, vegetables are getting relief
This is what was seen when I went to Karwan Bazar on Friday (May 23). In the market, broiler is now being sold at 150 taka per kg, down by 10 taka. Sonali is being sold at 220 to 230 taka and desi chicken is being sold at 600 to 610 taka.
In the space of a week, miniket rice is being sold at 74 taka per kg, depending on the quality. The price of atash rice has decreased by 1 to 3 taka and is currently being sold at 52 to 54 taka.
Vegetable prices have also decreased. Compared to last week, the prices of all types of vegetables including corolla, kakrol, brinjal, barbati have decreased by 10 to 15 taka per kg. Most vegetables in the market are being sold at 40 to 50 taka per kg. Patol, dhandas, chichinga and kankrol are on this list. Besides, barbati, kachur lati, usta, brinjal, jhinge are being sold at 50-60 taka.
A buyer named Sharif said, the price of chicken has come down. In case the price increases again, I have bought some. I have also seen that the price of vegetables has come down a lot.
Vegetable seller Salman said, the price is much lower because of the abundant supply of summer vegetables in the market. Due to the fear of floods in the country, many people are removing vegetables from the fields. Compared to last week, the price of almost every vegetable has come down by 20 taka per kg.
