Chittagong Port, the heart of the country’s economy: Chief Advisor

Chittagong Port is the heart of the country’s economy, and it is not possible to open a new path for the economy without this port, said Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. He made this comment after visiting Chittagong Port on Wednesday (May 14) morning.

The Chief Advisor said that if Bangladesh’s economy is to change, Chittagong Port is the only hope. If this port is launched, foreigners will invest in Bangladesh.

He also said that this port is not only important for Bangladesh, but also for neighboring countries. A multimedia documentary was shown at the event. After that, Shipping Advisor Brigadier Shakhawat Hossain spoke. Later, the Chief Advisor visited the port area.

After that, the Chief Advisor will go to Chittagong Circuit House. There, he will unveil the foundation stone of Kalurghat Bridge over the Karnaphuli River.

On the other hand, he will attend the 5th convocation of Chittagong University in the afternoon. Dr. Yunus will be given the title of D.Litt. And in the afternoon, after a long 8 years, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will go to his village home in Bathua, Hathazari.

Earlier, Dr. Muhammad Yunus reached his home district Chittagong for the first time after becoming the Chief Advisor to the interim government.
