CMP’s public notice, fireworks and weapons prohibited on the occasion of Ashura

The Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has banned the carrying of weapons and fireworks in the Tazia procession organized in the Chittagong Metropolitan area on July 6 on the occasion of the holy Ashura. This information was given in a public notice issued by the CMP on Friday (July 4). It was mentioned that in the past, some people participated in the Tazia procession organized with religious solemnity on the day of Ashura by carrying knives, knives, scissors, spears, spears, swords, sticks, etc., which has created fear and panic among the city residents and sometimes even created undesirable situations.

In view of this, the CMP authorities, under the powers conferred under Sections 29 and 30 of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police Ordinance 1978, have declared a complete ban on carrying knives, knives, scissors, spears, spears, swords, sticks and bursting of fireworks and crackers in the Tazia procession. It was informed that this ban will be in force from the beginning to the end of the procession. The police administration has called upon the city residents to cooperate in maintaining public safety and religious peace and order.
