Delay has begun, elections must be held by December: Tarique Rahman
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has commented that time is being wasted on reforms.
He made these comments while participating in a youth rally organized by three BNP affiliates in the capital Paltan on Wednesday (May 28).
Tarique Rahman said that delay has begun on the next election. Some have different intentions behind delaying reforms. However, the national election must be held by December. Once again, we want to say that the national election will be held by December.
Instructing the leaders and activists to prepare for the election, he said that the youth and activists must prepare for the election by December, who will elect their representatives. For this, he called on the leaders and activists to win the hearts of the people.
Stating that BNP’s politics in the coming days will be to keep the youth and women ahead, Tarique Rahman further said that the country cannot move forward by leaving the youth and women out. BNP is moving forward by keeping the hopes and aspirations of the young population at bay.
He said that BNP’s future politics is the politics of employment. BNP is prioritizing the use of the country’s working population.
Stating that the government has not been able to establish the rule of law, he further said, “The Ishraq oath has been taken and an autocratic decision has been made. What kind of reforms will the people of the country expect from those who disregard the court verdict?”
He urged the government not to do anything that would destroy the people’s trust.
Tarique Rahman said, “If anyone wants to remain in power, they should resign from the government and join the ranks of the people.”
Finally, Tarique Rahman called for politics for Bangladesh, not following foreigners, and said, “Not Delhi, not Pindi; not any other country, Bangladesh first.”
