    Dengue has spread to all upazilas of Barguna, beyond Sadar

    63 more people have been infected with dengue in Barguna. With this, the total number of infected people in the district has reached 2,251. This information has been confirmed by the health department.

    Among the new infected people, 51 people are in Barguna Sadar Upazila, 4 in Taltoli Upazila, 1 in Patharghata Upazila, 5 in Bamna Upazila, and one each in Betagi and Amtoli Upazilas.

    In addition, 221 people are undergoing treatment for dengue in the district. Of these, 183 are under treatment at Barguna General Hospital, 2 in Amtoli Upazila, 1 in Betagi Upazila, 11 in Bamna Upazila, and 7 each in Patharghata and Taltoli Upazilas.

    Doctors say that dengue infection is now spreading beyond Sadar Upazila to other upazilas. Which has become a cause for concern.

    In this regard, Barguna Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Abul Fattah said, “The number of dengue patients is increasing day by day. The number of dengue patients is not coming under control at all. We are already having to rush to provide medical services. If this situation continues, everything will go out of control.” At this time, he urged the locals to be aware and conduct large-scale cleanliness drives and mosquito control activities.
