Due to the mistake of the engineering department of Bogra Municipality, the city’s Satmatha is flooded

The city residents are suffering day after day in 10 minutes of rain due to the unplanned construction of a car parking point at the zero point of Bogra city, Satmatha. The car parking point was first built near the southern boundary wall of Bogra Zilla School 12 to 15 years ago.

At that time, since there was no car parking point in the city, that parking point became popular and the common people started using it. In the last few years, three to four parking points have been built around Satmatha in Bogra city.

Especially Runner Plaza, Police Plaza, Bogra Press Club parking zone, etc. Despite having so many parking points, the Bogra Municipality authorities built car parking points in an unplanned manner without thinking anything. The parking point that was built earlier had a slope that allowed water to pass under it. But recently, the new parking point that was demolished did not have any place to drain water. As a result, the roads remain waterlogged for days after 10 minutes of rain.

Engineer Ahmed Ali, a resident of Bogra Sub-city, said that the people of Bogra are suffering the consequences of the negligence of the municipality engineers. It is foolish not to have a system for draining water from the place where water is stagnant. As a result, the water will collect and the stones of the road will be lifted and holes will be created in that place. He said this is nothing but a waste of money.

The engineers need to be held accountable for doing this unplanned work. Shahjahan Alam, Executive Officer of Bogra Municipality, said that the place will be made higher. And to prevent water from accumulating, the drain of Sherpur Road will be connected.
