Elon Musk announces his departure from the Trump administration
Top billionaire Elon Musk has announced his departure from the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). He announced this in a message on the social media X on Wednesday (May 28). The British media outlet BBC reported this information in a report.
The process of leaving the post will begin today. The decision was made by the head of Tesla and SpaceX as his term of appointment as a special officer in the department expired.
Tech billionaire Elon Musk joined the Trump administration for 130 days in January. He promised to cut $1 trillion from the US federal budget for the Department of Government Efficiency. However, according to information obtained from the department’s website, this close Trump aide has been able to save $175 billion.
Thanking Trump for giving him the responsibility of the government department in the X post, Musk said, “I believe that the cost-cutting agency will become a part of the government everywhere.”
He also said that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will be stronger in the future and it will become the way the entire government works.
