Farakka Dam is a death trap for Bangladesh: Moin Khan

BNP Standing Committee member Abdul Moin Khan has said that the Farakka Dam is a death trap for the people of Bangladesh.

He was speaking at a public meeting organized by the International Farakka Committee (IFC) at the Central Shaheed Minar on Friday (May 16) afternoon to mark the ‘Farakka Long March Day’.

Moin Khan said, ‘The problem that Maulana Bhashani protested against fifty-nine years ago, today, fifty-nine years later, we have to protest again in independent Bangladesh.’

He said that the Farakka Dam has now become a question of life and death for the people of Bangladesh.

The BNP Standing Committee member said that martyred President Ziaur Rahman had raised this problem at the United Nations.
