    Formal complaint filed in case of burning bodies of 6 people in July-August massacre

    A formal complaint has been filed in the case of burning bodies after six people were killed in Ashulia during the July-August movement. 16 people, including former MP of Dhaka-19 constituency Saiful, have been accused in this case. The complaint was filed at the International Crimes Tribunal on Wednesday (July 2). Earlier, the prosecution received the investigation report of this case on June 19.

    This morning, 7 people, including police officers Abdullah Hill Kafi and Shahidul Islam, arrested in this case, were presented before the tribunal. On August 5 last year, 5 people lost their lives in police firing in Ashulia, Savar. One was seriously injured. Later, the bodies of the 5 people and the injured one were put in a police van, doused with petrol and set on fire. The prosecution said that a case was filed at the International Crimes Tribunal on September 11, alleging crimes against humanity in this incident.
