    Garment worker’s body found in sack from drain in Narayanganj

    Police have found the body of a garment worker named Johnny Sarkar in a sack from a drain on the side of the road in Fatulla, Narayanganj. The body was recovered from the Lal Khan area of ​​Shiachar at around 11:30 am on Tuesday (June 17).

    The deceased Johnny Sarkar is the son of Karuna Sarkar of Bishnopur village of Jamalganj police station in Sylhet district. He lived with his family in the Lal Khan area of ​​Fatulla. He was a garment worker by profession.

    Police and locals said that the garment worker Johnny left his house at 9 pm on Monday (June 16) and did not return. He has been missing since then. In the morning, locals informed the police after seeing the sack lying in the drain on the side of the road.

    Later, the police recovered the body. Then, the relatives identified the body as Johnny’s. At that time, the deceased’s hands and feet were tied and there were signs of injury on his face. Later, Johnny’s body was sent to the city’s Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

    Fatullah Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Anwar Hossain said that Johnny had connections and friendships with local drug addicts. It is believed that the murder could have been committed due to a dispute over drugs. A drive is underway to identify and arrest those involved. In addition, the police official said that legal action is under process in this murder case.
