Google Pay officially launched in the country
Google’s digital service Google Wallet, commonly known as Google Pay, has been officially launched for the first time in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur inaugurated the program at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday (June 24) morning.
City Bank PLC has launched this digital transaction service in collaboration with Google, MasterCard and Visa. From now on, City Bank customers can connect their MasterCard or Visa card to Google Wallet and complete payments quickly using ‘Google Pay’.
Customers of this service can now complete transactions easily and hassle-free by simply touching their Android phone to POS terminals capable of NFC transactions in the country or abroad. Advanced encryption technology has been used in Google Pay, which ensures the security of customer information. Through this, the smartphone in the customer’s hand will become his digital wallet. As a result, the customer will no longer have to carry any plastic cards separately. From air travel to shopping or cinema – everything will be transacted on mobile phones.
