Government to buy 4.5 million liters of rice bran oil, how much will it cost?

The government will buy 4.5 million liters of rice bran oil for the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB). It will cost Tk 71 crore.

On Tuesday (May 27), the meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Government Procurement held under the chairmanship of Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed approved the proposal.

According to the meeting sources, the government has approved the proposal to purchase 4.5 million liters of refined rice bran oil for the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh through a local open tender process on the proposal of the Ministry of Commerce. It will cost Tk 71 crore 77 lakh 50 thousand.

The recommended bidder is Majumdar Bran Oil Mills Limited. The price per liter will be Tk 159.50 paisa. After completing the purchase, these rice bran oils will be sold at a subsidized price to families holding TCB family cards.
