Government will not be able to stay in power if BNP starts movement: Gayeshwar
BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy has warned that the government will not be able to stay in power if BNP starts movement.
He said this while participating in a discussion meeting at the Press Club on Sunday (May 25).
Gayeshwar said, if we say that we will take to the streets tomorrow, then I think Dr. Yunus will not be able to stay even for 24 hours. But we want Dr. Yunus to be successful. His success means the success of the July-August movement. Those who want the crown of the July movement today have been given the crown long ago. We have also given it.
Meanwhile, participating in a discussion of the Democratic Left Unity at Dhaka Reporters Unity, standing committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said that a specific roadmap for the elections must be announced.
On the same day, at a separate event, another member of the standing committee Dr. Abdul Moin Khan said that the elections are being opposed out of fear that BNP will come to power if elections are held.
After paying homage at the National Poet’s tomb this morning, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi complained that many advisors are trying to intensify the ongoing political crisis. BNP leaders called for the rapid announcement of an election roadmap to end political unrest.
